Huarique

Zoppi

The 1980s in Peru were a different time, by turns dear and difficult. It was then that this locale opened its doors. Back then, of course, it was just a little huarique, in every sense of the word, offering up the simple charm of good cooking.

Don Alberto Zoppi—or Beto, as he is known to friends—was the founder of this local legend. It was he himself who cooked up the Peruvian, Italian, and seafood dishes on the menu, each one of them delicious. Now, decades later, the décor may have been updated but the flavor is as delightful as always. At its amiable location on Jirón Chamaya, Zoppi continues to captivate us.
