1 Fiesta Restaurant – Chiclayo

The wealth and diversity of flavors offered by the ingredients and traditions of the country’s north have been encapsulated by Chef Héctor Solís, who has been reinterpreting old recipes with a gourmet touch since the 1980s. This restaurant, by now a classic, shines for its duck fried rice, goat seco, chinguirito (a type of cebiche made with dried guitarfish), and tortilla de raya (ray omelet). Its large following grows daily with newly captivated customers.

rincon del pato

Just as its name suggests, this spot is known for its arroz con pato, one of the Lambayeque region’s flagship dishes, although it is also notable for its pato arverjado, the tallarín con pato, and the duck seco with tacu tacu. Ever since Lizandro Castillo opened his doors more than 20 years ago, his restaurant has been a touchstone of local cuisine, and is now a must for lovers of Chiclayo-style creole food.

With the slogan “We’re Mochicas and we’re still alive” (in reference to the ancient culture that once inhabited the region), this Lambayeque restaurant keeps tradition alive while also experimenting with new trends. Although they are focused mainly on traditional northern Peruvian food, they also offer exquisite dishes from other parts of the country, served in generous portions and accompanied by a good pisco.
