Johan Leuridan Huys

Born in Belgium, Johan came to Peru in 1968 and began teaching classes at the USMP. There, he forged a brilliant career as the driving force behind more than 360 publications, a hundred of which have dealt with culinary history and culture, Peruvian ingredients, regional cuisines, and more. Even so, not many people are aware of the fact that good food is also one of his many passions.

His memories, together with his dedication to knowledge and books—in which he has invited us to look at Peru in new ways—that have made his work as an editor and promotor of cuisine into a distinguished and indefatigable calling.
