It all started in 2013 in a medium- sized locale in the neighborhood of Santa Isabel. Now, La Baguettería & Delicatezze has five brick-and-mortar locations and an online service in Piura. This year, they hope to open another location, and they are considering expanding to Chiclayo and Trujillo.

 

Germán Baltazar, the enthusiastic general manager, believes the company’s secret to success lies in its “constant innovation, level of service, and quality assurance.

 

The company founded by Alkis Palinginis, Stephan Palinginis, Jose Luis Wong, and Antonio Bologna—who have lived in Piura their whole lives— has now borne fruit. Visitors to the city will always find someone who is quick to recommend the bakery, where you can find such peerless desserts as their chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake, along with a wide range of savory offerings like the sirloin or pizza empanadas. Of course, there is also the traditional frito piurano for breakfast, along with surprising seasonal offerings like panettone, donuts, and turron.

 

The company bakes 14,000 mouthwatering bread items a day, including croissants, pita bread (white or wheat), and more.

 

Baltazar is in daily contact with the company’s inner workings, which means he knows just how committed its 106 employees are to offering quality products and exceptional service. “In a city this hot, we need to have very high quality standards. We achieve this thanks to our excellent strategic suppliers. We take great care with the level of service, and we are always thinking up new products to surprise our customers,” he explains.
